This post will be short and sweet. Here’s what we got in our Eatwell CSA box on Wednesday:
strawberries
basil
cilantro
Italian flat leaf parsley
mixed lettuce
chard
red Russian kale
green garlic
beets
wakefield cabbage
turnips
désirée potatoes
We made this easy roast of the turnips and potatoes. Though we still aren’t huge fans of the turnips, the potatoes were amazing!!! So creamy and tasty. We added a bit of bacon, which was delicious (duh!), which was great for dinner AND breakfast. Win-win!

Roasted potatoes and turnips with herbs and bacon.

Potatoes + farm fresh fried egg = good morning.
Since we already had the oven on, and because I love roasted beets, we threw the beets into the oven and made a simple salad with the mixed lettuce and honey mustard dressing. Sorry, no photos, but trust me when I say it was delicious.
We repeated the pasta dish from last time with all of the greens and herbs. It was an easy way to use everything up, and we were being lazy, so…
To make up for the short post, here’s an extraneous photo of the beautiful peonies I bought yesterday. They’re my favorite flowers and only in season for a short time, so I couldn’t resist getting them despite the high sticker price. Enjoy!

So pretty. I could just stare at them all day…

Peonies are a perfect May-June flower. I love that you put an egg with the veggies. It’s the best way to eat.
