Euro-post IV: Swiss Market Report

Besides the fact that I’m generally obsessed with food, I like to observe what locals buy and eat when I travel.  It’s a great way to learn about a foreign culture, not to mention the chance to try new treats.  I could spend hours perusing the aisles of a supermarket, trying to decipher what different products are and whether they might be delicious.  Sometimes, I’m lucky enough to stumble upon a local outdoor market to see how it’s really done.

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a big fan of farmers’ markets.  Serendipitously, there was a flower and vegetable market on the one day we decided to stay in Bern (instead of heading out for a day trip).  Despite the dreary weather, blocks of stalls were set up selling a plethora of colorful and gorgeous fruits, vegetables, and flora.  Click through the gallery for some of my favorite sights.
