Happy (gluttonous) New Year!

Hope everyone is having a great start to 2009!  I spent New Year’s Eve with a small group of friends at LGS and MS’s lovely abode (with heated floors!).  It was a fun evening with lots of food, drink, and Rock Band.  When I say “lots of food,” I mean a ridiculous amount of gourmet treats enough to feed 20-30 people, not the cozy group of 8 that we were.  The food-to-person ratio might have exceeded the bounty that was the Thanksgiving PJ Extravaganza.

The very symbol of decadence: pate, prosciutto, and butter open-faced sandwich (on homemade bread!)

And there was more!  Not pictured here were the meatballs, nacho dip, and a heaping plateful of the most delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies.  Needless say, we ate very well that night.

I don’t really believe in resolutions but I do like to establish goals.  As for this blog, I hope to improve on the quality of the photos and of the writing.  (Special thanks to EY for the thoughtful Christmas gifts to aid in both of those ventures.)  I also hope to do more cooking posts, in addition to the restaurant reviews.  Finally, I’m looking forward to a special guest blog series about sandwiches by JL, expanding the carb specialities of this blog beyond noodles!

Happy New Year!  May your 2009 be delicious and bountiful!
